Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service.
  • Model positive customer, associate, and vendor relations.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately.
  • Receive and resolve customer complaints, escalating to the Store Director as needed.
  • Oversee total fuel center operations; plan, organize, and direct daily activities.
  • Conduct daily inspections and implement corrective measures to ensure compliance with pump maintenance, safety, and security requirements.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of all fuel pumps and related equipment.
  • Comply with and enforce all fuel center operating procedures, including government‑required environmental compliance measures.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
  • Implement emergency procedures for pump, equipment, and software malfunctions.
  • Maintain certification in Stage 1 Vapor Recovery Controls and demonstrate working knowledge of the fuel monitoring system.
  • Comply with fuel pricing procedures, billing, and reconciliation.
  • Perform competitive fuel price checks and change pump and signage pricing as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and state inspection guidelines.
  • Operate checkstand and fuel system equipment including registers, integrated fuel systems, scanners, scales, and electronic payment systems.
  • Follow all company policies related to Cash Handling, Employee Purchases, Returns, Restricted Sales, Coupons, WIC, Gift Cards, Voids, Refunds, and Scan Accuracy.
  • Report any policy violations to store management.
  • Accurately handle all monetary transactions including cash, credit, gift cards, food stamps, and WIC vouchers.
  • Process coupons, issue rain checks, and handle refunds following company procedures.
  • Complete accurate cash drops throughout the day.
  • Maintain accountability for register till contents; keep cash and coupons organized.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws governing the sale of gasoline, lottery, alcohol, tobacco, automotive products, batteries, and related merchandise.
  • Ensure temperatures are maintained in all phases of product preparation, display, and storage.
  • Build displays, rotate stock, and remove outdated or spoiled product.
  • Maintain correct pricing, signing, and compliance with Country of Origin Labeling (COOL), where applicable.
  • Follow all retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Ensure department safety, cleanliness, and sanitation across sales floor, work areas, cooler, freezer, cutting boards, and equipment.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures.
  • Control inventory to maintain adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Stock and rotate product; organize cooler and related storage areas.
  • Complete physical inventory every 4 weeks on applicable products.
  • Monitor purchase reports, sales, labor, and other operational metrics.
  • Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, validating invoices, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
  • Follow temperature, storage, and packaging guidelines.
  • Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.
  • Control shrink and cost.
  • Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
  • Schedule staff to ensure appropriate coverage and service levels.
  • Train employees in store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping processes.
  • Identify and train employees with strong potential for advancement.
  • Monitor productivity and evaluate overall employee performance.
  • Initiate personnel actions including interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Operate fuel center equipment including registers, lottery terminals, tank monitors, ordering devices, computers, telephones, gasoline dispensers, and fountain equipment.
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software failures.
  • Understand procedures for major or minor spill cleanup, 911 notifications, and fuel delivery protocols.
  • Know appropriate contacts during emergencies or downtime (e.g., RFSC, STSC, store manager).
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in all work and sales areas, including strict code‑dating compliance.
  • Follow all company grooming and dress code standards.
  • Perform all responsibilities safely, accurately, honestly, and with integrity.
  • Perform additional necessary duties as required.
