About The Position

The Fuel Driver at Offen Petroleum is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of petroleum products to customer locations. This role requires adherence to company policies, local and federal regulations, and the ability to operate various types of equipment. The position demands flexibility as deliveries can occur at any time, in all weather conditions, and may require overnight stays in the truck during shifts.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
  • At least 3 years of satisfactory driving history required; previous fuel delivery experience not required, but preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT and Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance regulations.
  • General comfort working with technology including ability to work with fleet management systems.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to operate trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Ability to coordinate with other drivers in slip-seat situations.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous fuel delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver loads in a safe and timely manner.
  • Correctly follow all Offen policies and procedures as well as local and federal laws.
  • Safely operate a variety of equipment, including power units, hydraulic pumps, and tank trailers.
  • Wear company uniforms and use all required personal protective equipment at each terminal and customer location.
  • Follow all current Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations.
  • Comply with mandatory drug and alcohol standards.
  • Ensure that the company vehicle is safe and reliable to operate and is serviced regularly.
  • Maintain and abide by legal electronic logs and maintain a paper log if necessary.
  • Attend required driver training and safety meetings.
  • Properly and timely complete delivery paperwork and turn it in at the end of every shift.
  • Over the Road drivers are expected to sleep in the truck for the entirety of the weekly shift.
