About The Position

The Fuel Delivery Truck Driver (FDTD) at Island Energy Services (IES) is responsible for the safe and reliable loading, driving, and delivery of fuel products to customers across Hawaii. This role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and adherence to company values while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses a clean driving record, and has a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a delivery driver with a valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
  • Experience as a petroleum or fuel delivery truck driver is desired.
  • Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement required by hire date.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Commercial Drivers License without Automatic Restrictions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and evaluate information for decision-making.
  • Written communication skills for clear documentation.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in work quality.
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment.
  • Dependability in attendance and following instructions.
  • Commitment to safety and security procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for work with a clean appearance and punctuality.
  • Review dispatch and journey plans for routes and hazards.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections and document vehicle conditions.
  • Load the tanker truck safely and correctly for deliveries.
  • Operate the vehicle using defensive driving techniques.
  • Deliver products to customer tanks and document inventory readings.
  • Complete post-trip inspections and report vehicle conditions.
  • Maintain DOT compliance and driver logs.
  • Review the Bill of Lading for accuracy before delivery.
  • Learn and follow loading and unloading procedures for petroleum products.
  • Communicate regularly with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address customer concerns promptly.
  • Attend safety meetings and complete required training.
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers and maintain a positive team spirit.
  • Adhere to safety standards and report violations promptly.
