About The Position
As a Fuel Clerk at Food City, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our customers while ensuring the smooth operation of the fuel station. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring that their needs are met promptly. You will be responsible for scanning and ringing customer orders in accordance with company policies, which includes handling transactions accurately and being accountable for all funds received during each transaction. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is essential, as you will be expected to keep your work station and the surrounding area neat and tidy. In addition to customer service, you will need to be knowledgeable about and adhere to all state and local laws regarding the sale of cigarettes and tobacco products, as well as federal regulations concerning food stamps. You will also follow specific procedures for handling coupons and cashing checks. Light stocking duties will be part of your role, which may include replenishing items such as candy, cigarettes, chips, and motor oil. Daily cleaning tasks will involve sweeping and mopping the work area, cleaning the concrete around the fuel pumps, and ensuring that all misplaced items are returned to their proper locations. You will also be responsible for collecting trash as needed and keeping essential supplies like paper towels and windshield wiper fluid stocked at the pumps. Overall, your role is crucial in maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment for our customers.
