About The Position

The Fuel Cell Technician position in Gardena, CA involves working with vehicle instrumentation using proprietary and off-the-shelf data acquisition equipment for Toyota and competitor vehicles. The role includes data acquisition and compilation of vehicle data and station performance data, as well as participation in on-road vehicle evaluations and hydrogen station testing, which may require overnight trips. The technician will also support chassis dynamometer testing, manage vehicle parts ordering and inventory, troubleshoot and repair vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, and perform routine maintenance on Fuel Cell vehicles. Coordination with dealerships for service scheduling and supporting driver group safety incident investigations are also part of the responsibilities. The position requires issuing daily, weekly, and periodic reports, with some overtime and travel expected.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years licensed driving experience.
  • Minimum 3-Years Dealership Experience including electrical diagnosis experience.
  • Experience in diagnoses & repair of Hybrid / Electric vehicles is a plus.
  • Proficient with Windows, email, MS Word.
  • Good experience with Excel, macros knowledge a plus.
  • Strong experience driving a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems including vehicle electrical diagnosis & repair.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Must possess certified driving record(s) from state(s) of residence during the previous 60-month period, with no moving violations or at fault accidents in the last 3 years.
  • Knowledge of vehicle components, systems, and operating procedures.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass Middle Class Driver Training at the TOYOTA Arizona Proving Ground in an M/T vehicle.
  • A/C Certification (MACS or EPA).
  • Hybrid or Electric Vehicle Certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Job requires sitting, standing, and bending for approximately 6-8 hours daily.
  • Must be flexible and available to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to pass Drug Screen, Physical, background check, pre-employment written and driving tests.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Hydrogen Fuel Cell experience is a plus.
  • Experience driving an M/T vehicle is a plus.
