Join our team as a Fuel Buyer, a pivotal role responsible for fuel procurement supporting Walmart gas stations, Distribution Centers, and Sam's Club locations nationwide. You will be based in Bentonville, Arkansas. This role is integral to our community and business operations. You will report to the Director, Procurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field.
  • 3 years' experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years' experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the fuel industry - OPIS, ARGUS, PLATTS.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Negotiating Skills.
  • Supervising Associates.
  • Masters: Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fuel supplier strategies expectations and performance metrics and new supplier relationships, monitors supplier performance and ensures supplier strategies align with corporate strategies to mitigate business and legal risk and to increase market share in the fuel business.
  • Monitor fuel inventory levels in real-time, daily.
  • Oversee fuel procurement strategies, set sourcing strategies, identify key suppliers and distributors, and recommend bid awards to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as the financial transactions and contractual agreements of the category.
  • Conduct market analysis by reviewing trends, historical data, and market research.
