About the position

The Fuel Associate at Wawa plays a crucial role in supporting the store management team by ensuring efficient gasoline-related customer service and tasks. This position focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences, maintaining safety standards, and executing cash management processes effectively. The Fuel Associate is integral to creating a welcoming environment for customers and ensuring that all fuel court operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers at the kiosk/fuel dispenser and provide an enjoyable fuel experience.
• Respond to customer requests and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
• Utilize the GREAT customer service and customer recovery model to ensure customer engagement.
• Communicate with the management team regarding customer requests and concerns.
• Assist fuel customers by determining their needs, programming the fuel dispenser, and pumping fuel.
• Operate the point of sale according to corporate standards and maintain proper cash levels.
• Process cash and credit payments and dispense change/receipts at the completion of service.
• Complete outdoor housekeeping functions including cleaning, power washing, and maintaining the fuel area.
• Replace receipt paper and ensure the credit card payment area is secure.
• Adhere to established safety, security, quality, and store operations policies and procedures.
• Ensure safe working conditions by maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by store management.

Requirements

• Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to learn processes and procedures and demonstrate them daily.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to learn and demonstrate all Wawa Safety and Quality Assurance processes and procedures.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to tolerate exposure to cleaning products.
• Ability to withstand extreme environmental conditions.

Nice-to-haves

• Pursuit of or high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior cash register and/or cash handling experience preferred.
