About The Position

The Material Control Analyst, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Environment is responsible for managing material planning, inventory control, and Foreign Trade Zone operations to support production and export-driven manufacturing activities. This role ensures accurate material availability, compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, and effective utilization of FTZ benefits. The position works cross-functionally with Planning, Purchasing, Production, Warehousing, Logistics, and external trade partners to optimize inventory performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and minimize material and duty-related costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in inventory management, planning, or logistics.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (purchasing, warehouse, finance)
  • Experience in an FTZ or customs-compliant environment.
  • Knowledge of CBP regulations and FTZ procedures.
  • Ability to read technical documentation or engineering drawings.
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Extensive computer experience working with MS Office; strong Excel skills are required (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas).
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook as well as with an ERP software (Oracle preferred) is required.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Possess strong, independent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. Customs Broker License or FTZ certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue material delivery schedules based on MRP requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels, demand forecasts, and safety stock.
  • Perform physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Coordinate material logistics using Oracle ERP.
  • Dispose of excess and obsolete inventory
  • Oversee FTZ operations including admissions, inventory movements, and shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with CBP and FTZ Board regulations
  • Maintain FTZ procedures and documentation.
  • Prepare CBP filings and FTZ reports.
  • Support audits and cost-saving FTZ strategies.
