About The Position

The Security Officer position helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for a client site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area. Frequently, our Security Officers will provide customer service and information to a client’s employees and customers. Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• Ability to effectively speak, read and write English.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Some client sites require at least 1 year of prior security experience.

Responsibilities

• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process; assists visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility.
• Provides an atmosphere in which all client employees and visitors know that the client responds to and cares about their needs.
• Communicates in a manner that is open, honest, and responsive in all situations.
• Monitors entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked ingress and egress.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
• Prepares logs or reports as required for site; writes and/or types reports and/or enters information in a computer.
• Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client representatives, company management, life/safety personnel or public safety authorities.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
• Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements.
• Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site.
