Requirements

• A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
• Ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN Acute Surgical/Endo experience required.
• BLS Required. ACLS required (Can be provided during orientation).
• Telemetry Training (Can be acquired during orientation).
• On call availability 1 weekday night every other week and 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Utilize assessment skills and knowledge base to prep patients for procedures.
• Plan patient care needed post-op, including spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs.
• Assist with basic Endoscopy procedures such as Colonoscopy and EGD's.
• Assist with advanced therapeutic procedures that prevent surgery for mass removal and swallowing disorders.
• Administer moderate sedation.
