About The Position

As a Community Living Specialist with Easterseals, you'll work alongside people with disabilities to help them thrive in their homes and their community. The Community Living Specialist is equivalent to a Direct Support Professional or a DSP and provides daily assistance, care taking and supports for individuals with disabilities living in their home. This position provides direct care support, education and advocacy as outlined in the individual's support plan and ensures supports provided meet organizational guidelines, funder requirements and accreditation standards.

Requirements

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have your own vehicle, and documentation for a valid driver's license and car insurance.
• Experience providing direct supports to individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills and be able to work with a variety of computer systems.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a caretaker, care provider, C.N.A, residential care provider, DSP, social worker, teacher's assistant, teacher's aide, or nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily assistance and care for individuals with disabilities living in their homes.
• Support individuals according to their support plans and ensure compliance with organizational guidelines.
• Educate and advocate for individuals with disabilities as needed.
