About The Position

The OB Technician II at Penn Medicine is a surgical technologist responsible for providing patient care in the Labor and Delivery unit. The OB Technician II is expected to exhibit professional competencies and engage in continuous learning and improvement within the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (Required)
• Surgical Technologist certification (Required)
• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
• 1+ years of experience as a Surgical Technician.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide patient care through department-specific processes and accept accountability for assigned patients.
• Work closely with the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate coordinated care across the continuum.
• Deliver safe and accurate care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or physician.
• Promote self-directed learning and complete all competencies by the assigned date.
• Receive positive feedback from precepted students, nurses, and surgical providers.
• Collaborate to provide patient care appropriate for the age and developmental level of the patient.
• Participate in improving organizational performance and manage the environment of care.
• Manage information appropriately and participate in infection surveillance, prevention, and control.
