About The Position

The Ogden City Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lateral Police Officer. This is a full-time sworn officer position that is non-exempt and eligible for benefits. Upon hire, candidates will receive an initial uniform allowance of $1,100 and an annual education incentive based on their degree level. The department offers a $5,000 hiring bonus for successful lateral candidates. Applicants must have prior law enforcement experience and meet specific training and certification requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
• Training equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade is required.
• Possession of a P.O.S.T. category I or II certificate or an associate degree with an emphasis in law enforcement is desired but not mandatory.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Utah driver's license.
• Must be currently or within the last two years employed as a Peace Officer in Utah or another state.

• Prior state, municipal, or local law enforcement experience.
• Possession of an associate degree or higher in a relevant field.
