About The Position

Job Purpose: Preps a variety of food products including meats, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List.

Requirements

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have basic math skills.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel.
• A minimum of 6 months of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Current Food Handlers License within 30 days of date of hire.
• Ability to work any shifts, start time, weekends, and holidays.
• Documents that establish both Identity and Employment Eligibility.
• Kickapoo Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Prep food according to instructions for usage by other kitchen team members.
• Prep a variety of sauces, fresh ingredients, meats, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Understand and comply consistently with the Casino standard portions sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Responsible for correct storage and rotation of all food products delivered to kitchen.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, convection oven and refrigeration equipment.
• Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to the kitchen supervisor.
• Performs other duties and projects as required by management.
• Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
