The incumbent is primarily responsible for the routine maintenance of the floors/carpets in all patient rooms, offices, and public areas within the hospital. Requirements

• Ability to read written instructions and comprehend verbal instructions given in English.
• Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workers.
• Ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Dust mops, wet mops, and vacuums floors.
• Periodically polishes floors using buffing machines according to procedures.
• Strips and refinishes floors and shampoos carpets according to procedures.
• Maintains and stores equipment in a safe/clean condition; ensures that all equipment malfunctions are reported in a timely manner.
