About The Position

Requirements

  • Professional appearance and good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent phone skills and a basic working knowledge of computers.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Punctuality is required.
  • Use of personal laptops, cell phones, and iPods with earbuds is not permitted during a shift.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Technology Help Desk Supervisor.
  • Help Desk Technicians respond to and provide technical phone support and onsite services for faculty and administrative staff on campus.
  • Identifies problems, helps end users, updates systems, installs new software, troubleshoots systems, assists with inventorying IT assets, documents systems, and supports the IT department in multiple capacities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and be a strong communicator.
  • Using KACE software, technicians track and record all issues initiated by them.
  • Follow up with initial troubleshooting and escalation of issues to the appropriate next level of support.
  • Technicians will be trained in troubleshooting and IT procedures and networking protocols to provide advanced support to end-users.
  • May be asked to train new technicians in the operations of the Help Desk.
