About The Position

We are actively hiring for Microsoft Purview Compliance Engineer. Location: New Jersey, NJ (Onsite).

Requirements

• Data governance and/or data management experience.
• Records management experience.
• Extensive experience with Windows and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe.
• Experience in the utilization of Microsoft Purview to implement and manage data governance frameworks.
• Conduct eDiscovery Premium searches.
• Working knowledge of laws, regulations and standards governing the management of sensitive data (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, NIST Standards).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary compliance contact for the implementation and oversight of the agency's Microsoft Purview application.
• Data types to be brought under Purview oversight and management include: data/files within enterprise Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Point, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, etc.) and other on-premises, multicloud, and software as a service (SaaS) data.
• Key Purview duties and responsibilities include eDiscovery, Data Cataloging, Data Classification, Data Lineage, Data Insights, and Data Compliance.
• Coordinate with relevant departments or personnel to retrieve requested data and compile necessary documents for disclosure.
• Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance to develop and revise policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and guidelines related to data management and governance.
• Monitor and interpret federal and state data protection laws, regulations (such as HIPAA), and industry standards.
• Develop training materials and conduct sessions to educate agency staff on data governance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance in developing and designing data management applications and systems.
