We are seeking a FSQA Supervisor to join our dynamic team at our California locations. The annual salary for this role will be withing the range of $80,000 to $90,000. In this role, you will be responsible for leading on-the-ground Food Safety and Quality Assurance operations across both Local Bounti California facilities. This role ensures all products meet company quality expectations and comply with federal, state, local, and customer food safety standards. The FSQA Supervisor will oversee daily FSQA activities, guide site teams, support regulatory and customer audits, and act as the primary on-stie liaison for all food safety and quality programs. Requirements

  • Two plus years of experience in a food safety or quality role.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, FSMA, HAACP, GMPs, and food safety regulatory requirements.
  • HACCP certification and/or PCQI certification
  • Experience supporting third-party audits.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Ability to train, coach, and lead teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and adjust schedule based on business needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, agriculture, or related field OR equivalent experience in FSQA within food manufacturing or controlled-environment agriculture.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time while performing duties on the production floor and in greenhouse environments
  • Ability to sit, reach, stoop, bend, climb, crouch, and kneel as required during inspections, audits, and routine FSQA activities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, equipment, or product weighing up to 25 – 40 pounds on occasional basis.
  • Ability to work in variable environments, including cold storage, production areas with moderate noise levels, and warm/humid greenhouse conditions.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to type, write, operate testing equipment, and handle samples.
  • Ability to visually inspect products and equipment, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Ability to travel locally between both California sites, including driving or other means of local transportation.

  • Experience in fresh produce, CEA/greenhouse operations, or ready-to-eat food production.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain all site-level FSQA programs, including HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, environmental monitoring, pest control, allergen management, and sanitation verification.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA FSMA cGMP, Produce Safety Rule, state of California regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure proactive identification and quick resolution of food safety issues.
  • Support and lead site-level preparation for third party, regulatory, and customer audits.
  • Oversee daily quality checks, product evaluations and data capture to ensure all finished goods meet Local Bounti specifications.
  • Review and analyze quality data, trends, and deviations; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Verify calibration and accuracy of quality testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues on the production floor and drive timely resolution.
  • Provide daily guidance to site FSQA technicians and collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and Growing.
  • Train employees on FSQA policies, procedures, and standards across both sites.
  • Promote a strong food safety culture through coaching, accountability, and consistent communication.
  • Maintain accurate and complete FSQA documentation, logs, records, and digital systems.
  • Ensure timely completion and follow-up on non-conformances, CAPAs, and audit findings.
  • Prepare and submit FSQA reports to the Regional FSQA Manager, highlighting key metrics, risks, and opportunities.
  • Split time between both Local Bounti California facilities based on operational needs.
  • Standardize best practice across both sites to ensure consistent execution of FSQA programs.
  • Provide on-site support for new product trails, equipment validations, or operational changes impacting food safety or quality.
