Requirements

  • Experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a related technical/production role.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for team development and accountability.
  • Familiarity with USDA regulations, sanitation scheduling, and pre-op verification.
  • Confident problem solver with a bias for action and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Decisive, structured, and calm under pressure.
  • Analytical thinker who turns data into decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and train QA staff and oversee new hire onboarding.
  • Conduct performance reviews (IPP), manage staffing and scheduling, and enforce accountability.
  • Evaluate team performance aligned with departmental KPIs and make impactful changes.
  • Lead resolution of food safety issues, NRs, USDA concerns, and micro deficiencies.
  • Act as USDA liaison and partner closely with QA leadership for issue management.
  • Identify and address systemic gaps in food safety and quality processes.
  • Assist with sanitation goals and execution, including master sanitation schedule.
  • Partner on billing, service scope, and semi-annual deep cleans.
  • Assist with weekly sanitation meetings and monitor micro and SSOP KPIs.
  • Will be required to cover the production floor occasionally.
  • Reinforce company programs and initiatives within the QA team.
  • Provide training for production team members handling FSQA tasks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and OA teams.
  • Validate CCPs and lead evaluations of pre-op programs and sanitation trends.
  • Partner with the Lab to ensure sampling program effectiveness.
  • Lead data-driven process enhancements in line with industry best practices.
