The FSQA Manager, reporting to the FSQA Director, will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our products in our facility in Warren, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing food safety and quality assurance programs, including the execution of strategies, systems and/or procedures and driving initiatives to uphold regulatory standards and enhance confidence in our brand.

  • Lead a team of FSQA professionals in the maintenance of compliance with various quality related programs and strategies; including but not limited to: CGMP, environmental monitoring, sanitation, allergen, HACCP, Preventive Controls, product recall, traceability, and internal audits
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant food safety regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP) through proactive monitoring
  • Maintain robust quality management systems across all stages of production, from sourcing raw materials to product distribution, to ensure consistency and excellence in product quality
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies
  • Proactively address food safety risks and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and inspections to evaluate compliance with international, federal, state or local regulatory requirements as well as, internal standards
  • Prepare for audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly
  • Deliver comprehensive training programs for employees at all levels to promote awareness of food safety practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Execute continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety and quality assurance processes, optimize operational efficiencies, and drive organizational excellence
  • Implement crisis management protocols to effectively manage food safety incidents or product recalls, minimizing potential impact on consumers and the company's reputation
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • HACCP Certification required
  • SQF Practitioner and/or PCQI Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in food safety and quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
