About The Position

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. The Food Safety Quality Assurance Lead (FSQA) leads and conducts activities of the FSQA Technicians responsible for the quality assurance of production processes, materials, and products.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Food Safety Quality Assurance.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • HAACP Certification.
  • Seafood Industry specific experience preferred.
  • Supervising other employees' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the FSQA staff on the production line.
  • Assist FSQA technicians with operational reports and complete required paperwork (daily process documentation, questions about checks, etc.).
  • Monitor performance of FSQA technicians and provide assessment to FSQA supervisor.
  • Complete documentation and report out comments/warnings given to employees while supervisor absent.
  • Monitor employees to ensure checks are being done in a timely manner and all hand/foot dips are being done.
  • Conduct standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with standards and regulations regarding factors such as color, weight, dimension, texture.
  • Review purchased products or components and provide input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
  • Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Record test data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content, qualities and quantities inspected or graded.
  • Apply proper acceptance/rejection criteria and mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
  • Audit production facility and review employee behavior for proper sanitation.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to Production/FSQA Management.
  • Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
