About The Position

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with primary seafood processing operations and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Trident's global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries and its sales teams serve customers in over 50 countries. Trident employs approximately 9,000 people worldwide each year and partners with over 5,400 independent fishermen and crewmembers. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide. The FSQA Lead is responsible for leading and conducting activities of FSQA Technicians responsible for the quality assurance of production processes, materials, and products.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the FSQA staff on the production line.
  • Assist FSQA technicians with operational reports and complete required paperwork.
  • Monitor performance of FSQA technicians and provide assessment to FSQA supervisor.
  • Complete documentation and report out comments/warnings given to employees while supervisor absent.
  • Monitor employees to ensure checks are done in a timely manner and all hand/foot dips are being done.
  • Conduct standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Review purchased products or components and provide input to the decision of whether to accept the product.
  • Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards.
  • Record test data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content, qualities and quantities inspected or graded.
  • Apply proper acceptance/rejection criteria and mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
  • Audit production facility and review employee behavior for proper sanitation.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Acquire knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies.
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks.
