About The Position

The incumbent performs routine quality and food safety audits on the “in-process” stages of the operation for the majority of the time. The incumbent must have an understanding of in-process applicable company specifications, government (FDA) requirements, and the ability to enforce accept/reject criteria. Decisions made by the incumbent are mainly subjective in nature and require interpretation of measurements and intention of specifications to make decisions. In addition, good communication skills are required to thoroughly explain and interpret company/government requirements and expectations. The incumbent works in a plant environment with temperatures ranging from 60 – 90 degrees Fahrenheit (rare highs over 90 degrees) and exposed to a high level of noise requiring hearing protection (>85 dBA). The incumbent lifts boxes up to 40 pounds. Below describes the typical activities of a Quality Control Auditor II: Perform direct observations of packaging line checks performed by packaging line operators Conduct verification of regulatory quality attributes such as lot code, net contents, labeling and foreign material controls Conduct verification of good documentation practices and reporting of documentation non-conformances Work with QC and Production on exceptions that are found during receiving, in-process, or customer complaints Conduct pre-operative & operative inspections and swabbing of packaging lines for allergens and microorganisms Understand appropriate measures to take when product does/does not meet specification. Who to notify How to document Timeliness of actions Communicate non-conformances by initiating OOS & Deviations Document of packaging supply non-conformances with the SCAR process Aid in OOS, Deviation and SCAR resolution Aid in training new hires for QC Auditor I Cross train in QC Packaging Technician functions The incumbent performs other duties assigned by the supervisor At Century Foods International we manufacture and market dairy proteins and nutritional products under private label and contract manufacturing agreements for the foods, sports, health and nutritional supplement industries.
