About The Position

OVERALL FUNCTION: Provide therapeutic assessment, diagnosis, and intervention with clients (age 0-21), and their families, who may be homeless, dually-diagnosed, severely mentally ill, and/or dealing with other acute and/or chronic challenges which require comprehensive mental health and case management services.

Requirements

  • Possesses a MSW, MFT, or MA in Psychology, LCSW or LMFT preferred.
  • Active registration through the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS); intent to register as a BBS intern will be considered with the registration process complete within three months of date of hire.
  • Organization and detail orientation required.
  • Ability to manage time and be flexible in duties.
  • All employees, regardless of position, serve as role models for children and adolescents who are served by our agencies. Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral health problems. The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions as well as appropriate role modeling. Hostility, aggression, and unnecessary or inappropriate physical and/or emotional expression are not acceptable.
  • Must be able to pass criminal/fingerprinting background check, TB test, physical examination and drug testing.
  • Must have a valid California Drivers License and a clear DMV record.
  • Must have the visual, physical and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer.
  • Will also require bending, stooping, filing and lifting of files.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an appropriate clinical treatment plan for clients and their family dictated by each client’s medical necessity and functional impairments.
  • Provide individual and family therapy as often as needed, or other therapeutic intervention as needed to meet the needs of the client.
  • Collaborate closely with case manager to identify each client’s case management needs, and incorporate case management goals into treatment plan.
  • Complete all Full Service Partnership paperwork in a timely manner, appropriately meeting DMH and agency guidelines in an EHRS.
  • Be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide any needed services by the client and their family, including providing crisis intervention as needed. (Calls are infrequent!)
  • Provide outreach and engagement services for clients and prospective clients to promote the program, and to reach people in the community letting them know their options to receive mental health services through DMH.
  • Attend appropriate designated on-site and off-site meetings to stay on top of FSP requirements.
  • Attend designated clinical trainings on relevant topics to ensure quality clinical care of the client and their family.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by program supervisor.
