The purpose for this role is to implement individualized and intensive FSP/Outpatient MH Services to children and their families. The FSP/Outpatient Therapist provides clinical interventions designed to reduce mental health impairments, promote client safety, and increase stability in the home and/or school. This role promotes client-centered, strength-based approaches to service delivery as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
  • LMFT/LCSW/LPCC License or AMFT/ACSW/APCC Registration with CA Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • 1-2 years direct service experience with severely emotionally disturbed clients in an inpatient or outpatient health care setting (internship and/or practicum time may be substituted).
  • One (1) year case management experience preferred.
  • Experience working via telehealth and/or in home, community, and school-based setting.
  • Experience working as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Prior experience with DMH documentation preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the DMH intake assessment and clinical diagnostic evaluation, complete a thorough assessment of case, develop a treatment plan, and provide individual and family therapy based on therapeutic goals.
  • Provide family, individual, collateral, and group psychotherapy.
  • Maintain intensive caseload of minimum 4 FSP clients and remaining caseload to be outpatient clients.
  • Provide services in the field (in home, community, school) as well in office and telehealth.
  • Provide coordination of treatment, development of service plans, and discharge planning.
  • Coordinate adjunct services, both internally and in the community, to complement therapy for overall development of client and family.
  • Participate in Outreach & Engagement (O&E), as well as 24/7 crisis on-call rotation.
  • Provide behavioral and crisis interventions in a manner consistent with mental health objectives.
  • Demonstrate appropriate skills and knowledge of current legal and ethical standards including mandated reporting, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and related issues.
  • Participate in a multi-cultural team approach that is sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of the families served.
  • Provide 24-hour submission of comprehensive progress notes in patient's Medical Record in accordance with State, County and Agency standards.
  • Attend weekly Clinical group supervision, FSP Team meetings, individual Clinical supervision, and EBP supervisions.
  • Maintain proper documentation of training hours and obtaining supervisors signatures as required.
