Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of related healthcare experience.
• BLS Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Answers patient call lights and makes rounds to assigned patients.
• Assists with simple dressing changes.
• Demonstrates the ability to type and write clear, concise notes and simple charting that reflects patient care given.
• Distributes water pitchers and other nourishments to patients.
• Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patients complain of pain or have other needs/concerns that cannot be met by the Patient Care Technician (PCT).
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission.
• Removes trash and linen for housekeeping when needed.
• Provides general nursing care such as positioning, lifting, turning, and transferring patients, and assisting with ambulation.
• Prepares patients for meals; serves and removes food trays and assists with meals or feeds patients if necessary.
• Reports and records any changes observed in the condition or behavior of the patient.
• Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and intake-output.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
