This position is to call on foodservice operators only in the specified territory or region. Sells MegaMex Food products to new and existing Foodservice customers by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • Preferred Location: California (Bay Area Preferred – Potential – San Diego)
  • Existing knowledge / relationships with key operators in Northern or Southern California in Food Service industry and distributors such as PFG, Sysco, US Foods…
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results with Food Service regional operator chains through collaboration & food forward focus
  • Resourceful problem solver.
  • Enjoys the challenge of change and demonstrates an ability to thrive in a fast-evolving organization.
  • Works independently and without everyday supervision, but also works well with others and builds relationships
  • Effective, persuasive, written and oral communicator, internally and with customers. Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Displays or demonstrates product and responds to customer requests for documents.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Travel required
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university, 2+ Years of Experience in Food Service Channel of business (or equivalent training); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows suite of program applications, such as Excel, Word, etc. Individual should also be functional in a computer e-mail system (i.e. “Lotus Notes”).
  • The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge / experience in managing GPOs (ex. Aramark, Compass, Foodbuy) a plus
  • Culinary experience & passion for Mexican Foods a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results with Food Service regional operator chains through collaboration & food forward focus
  • Preferred – Spanish Speaking

Responsibilities

  • Sells MegaMex Food products to new and existing Foodservice customers
  • Prepares for and conducts FS operator cold calls. Discovers and develops new sales opportunities.
  • Travels throughout assigned geographic region to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on site or by phone. May occasionally travel outside the assigned regional coverage
  • Participates in strategic planning, budget planning, forecasting, scheduling, key actions sales meeting planning.
  • Attend strategic planning meetings, corporate office functions as necessary and sales meetings.
  • Attend trade shows. Participate in customer plant tours and inspections as needed, industry seminars and events.
