About The Position

The Foundry Service Operator/Mold Handler position at Howmet Aerospace involves working under general supervision to assist in the casting process by managing molds, performing inspections, and ensuring quality control. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience as a Foundry Service Operator/Mold Handler is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove molds from the preheat furnace and position them for casting in a timely manner.
• Perform wrap application, dewax, repair, and mold inspection.
• Conduct all post-cast operations as specified.
• Read and interpret Product Criteria and Activity Instructions.
• Assist the caster in casting molds according to established techniques and specific instructions.
• Monitor preheat temperatures and handle molds from the preheat furnace and after casting.
• Maintain expected quality levels and comply with site policies and procedures.
• Perform heavy housekeeping and assist in minor equipment maintenance.
• Notify the caster of any issues with wraps or molds.
• Load ovens and keep updated on new methods and improvements.
• Ensure molds are kept clean and properly sealed during dewax or inspection.
• Complete necessary paperwork and verify mold counts and paperwork correctness.
