Responsibilities

  • Selects representative samples of fruit, vegetables and nuts in accordance with prescribed sampling procedures and plans.
  • Inspects the products to determine quality, condition and/or compliance with United States Department of Agriculture standards, committees, laws of the state of Florida and/or marketing orders.
  • Prepares inspection reports based on results of examination of product.
  • Travels to various packing houses and/or canneries during days and/or nights.
  • Prepares and maintains a daily and weekly report and monthly expense voucher.
  • Receives instruction through training classes and field supervision.
  • Performs related work as required.
