About The Position

The Frozen Foods Clerk at Hy-Vee is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service in the Frozen Foods department. This role involves rotating and replenishing merchandise, ensuring cleanliness and safety in the department, and checking temperatures of cases for correctness and consistency. The clerk is expected to engage with customers, assist them in finding products, and enhance their shopping experience. The position requires working night and weekend shifts, and the clerk will report to various managers including the District Store Director and the Frozen Department Manager.

Requirements

• No education requirement.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
• Rotates and replenishes merchandise.
• Ensures cleanliness and safety in the department.
• Checks temperatures of cases for correctness and consistency.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and learns their names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items, and taking customer orders.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintains organization in the storage area and ensures the floor is not slippery.
• Orders product and supplies as necessary.
• Assists with inventory and prices products for customers.
