About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers with product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director as needed. Operations & Merchandising Rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and displayed; maintain clean and organized shelves. May assist in other areas of the Grocery Department. Follow and maintain department standards and requirements. Inventory & Stock Management Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels according to division directives. Stock and rotate products. Supervise processing of reclamation and maintain orderly, in-stock conditions in back room and Frozen Food Department areas. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Assist with physical inventory every 6 months. Control shrink and cost. Compliance & Standards Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company policies, and code dating requirements. Ensure proper temperature levels for all products. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas. Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or software malfunctions. Comply with company grooming standards and dress code. Receiving & Equipment Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating products. Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product. Administrative & Reporting Accurately complete, maintain, and monitor daily log sheets, sales and labor reports, and other required paperwork. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.
