About The Position

The Frozen Food Clerk is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and stock of frozen food cases in the store while providing excellent customer service. This role involves adhering to procedural guidelines, ensuring product quality, and assisting customers with their inquiries and purchases.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency degree.
• Preferred 1 - 2 years grocery retail experience in Frozen department processes and procedures.
• Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
• Ability to support and contribute to team goals.
• Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cleanliness of frozen cases, storage area, and work area for safety.
• Stocks frozen cases, including product presentation, facing, filling, and organization as per department schematics.
• Examines the rotation of frozen products, discarding expired or spoiled items.
• Responds positively to customer inquiries and assists with purchases and product selection.
• Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
• Monitors point of purchase signs and ensures availability of recipe cards and promotional materials.
• Operates equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Maintains a high level of product knowledge and preparation.
• Regularly walks the department to ensure an organized and clean appearance.
