About The Position

The position requires an individual to perform essential duties with accuracy while maintaining a high level of productivity. The role emphasizes the importance of customer relations, morale within the department, and compliance with company policies. Responsibilities include ensuring adequate stock levels, effective inventory control, and maintaining good working relationships with other department managers. The individual will also be responsible for planning work schedules, training team members, and staying aware of the competitive market.

Requirements

  • Certification required for operation of forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED; related job experience and/or training preferred.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, and inventory preferred.
  • Required to use or operate pallet jack, forklift, box cutters, two-wheeler, six-wheeler, baler, ladder, etc.
  • Previous stocking experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership skills preferred.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
  • Promote a high level of morale within department and store through honest and open communication.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other department managers to improve sales storewide.
  • Comply with all company policies, programs, and directives as specified in the Code of Conduct.
  • Provide a professional example for other store team members to follow.
  • Ensure adequate stock by proper ordering to maintain optimum inventory levels.
  • Pay attention to effective inventory control to guard against spoilage and outdated products.
  • Plan work schedules with a direct supervisor to complement both the department and the rest of the store.
  • Ensure prompt return of product and compliance with company policies regarding incoming supplier products.
  • Possess a good understanding of sales, gross profit, labor, and inventory relationships.
  • Maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
  • Provide proper training to team members and handle evaluations and disciplinary concerns timely.
  • Stay aware of the competitive market and react promptly to product and price concerns.
