Frontend Software Engineer

Atomic SemiSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

This is a deeply broad, multi-domain, hands-on role. You’ll work on control of semiconductor fabrication equipment, and data analysis of semiconductor process development. The software you build will help engineers develop and operate the fab. If you’re excited by building complex features from scratch, and learning new domains quickly, this is a great place to grow. You’ll own frontend product development—from idea to shipped UI. You’ll turn ambiguous workflows into clear, fast, reliable interfaces and obsess over product taste, usability, and performance. You’ll partner closely with process and automation engineers, designers, and backend/embedded teams to create new operator tools and real-time dashboards.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in modern frontend stacks (e.g., React/Typescript) and tooling
  • Proven ability to ship production-quality UIs, evolving prototypes into robust products
  • Experience with state management, real-time data (WebSockets/Subscriptions), and testing
  • Strong programming skills in Rust and Go or Typescript plus a strong desire to learn
  • Experience building non-trivial software projects from scratch (personal, academic, or professional)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with interactive software such as Figma, Blender, CAD tools, KiCad, or scientific computing environments
  • Experience with complex data-heavy or hardware-adjacent UIs (e.g., live telemetry, control panels, visualization/WebGL)
  • Previous experience as founder or early engineer at a startup or in a zero-to-one role

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the core web app UI for the fab
  • Design operator workflows, dashboards, and controls
  • Develop reusable components and design systems
  • Integrate with APIs and real-time data streams
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and UX
