About The Position

At Optimus Health Care, the largest provider of primary care services in Fairfield County, we’re looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Front Office Registrar to join our team in Bridgeport, CT. With locations across Bridgeport, Stratford, and Stamford, our mission is simple: to be a lifelong healthcare partner committed to improving the wellness of our communities—and it starts with people like you. As a Front Office Registrar, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive patient experience and ensuring smooth clinic operations. You’ll work closely with providers, nurses, and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and accurate registration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual required: English/Spanish OR English/Haitian Creole

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients with professionalism, warmth, and respect
  • Create a positive and comfortable experience for all patients
  • Answer questions and guide patients to appropriate services
  • Prepare welcome materials for new patients
  • Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient check-in/check-out
  • Schedule appointments and maintain provider schedules (18–20 patients/day target)
  • Obtain required documentation (HIPAA, consent forms, etc.)
  • Assist with sliding scale applications and required documentation
  • Verify insurance coverage, copays, deductibles, and authorizations
  • Review schedules in advance to ensure readiness for upcoming visits
  • Contact patients with appointment reminders and payment expectations
  • Prepare and scan all required documents within 24 hours
  • Collect copays and outstanding balances
  • Balance and close daily payment journals
  • Coordinate with billing for accounts with outstanding balances
  • Support workflow improvements and patient flow initiatives
