About The Position

The Front Office Manager at Hyatt Place Schaumburg is responsible for coordinating the activities of the hotel front office and its personnel, while also providing direct support to the General Manager. The primary goal of this role is to ensure efficient hotel operations, deliver excellent guest satisfaction, and uphold all established hotel policies and procedures. This is a full-time position located at 1851 McConnor Pkwy, Schaumburg, IL 60173, with a salary ranging from $45,000 to $52,000. The work schedule involves 8-hour shifts, which may include Monday to Friday, night shifts, holidays, and weekends, and also entails on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience/training.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with planning and organizational abilities.
  • Computer and accounting knowledge.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and other required certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise front office team members for efficient and smooth operations.
  • Provide outstanding customer care and maintain a friendly demeanor.
  • Respond professionally to guest inquiries and concerns.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize room occupancy and revenue.
  • Train, direct, and resolve issues for front desk team members.
  • Ensure accurate processing of hotel charges and invoices.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health regulations.
  • Correspond with group and travel agents for special requests.
  • Assist with sales and marketing efforts as directed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with other departments.
  • Operate EPBX equipment and manage cash transactions.
  • Update and action the front office and hotel logbooks.
  • Follow guest check-in and security procedures.
  • Take responsibility in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by the manager/ supervisor.
