About The Position

The front office float performs various procedures associated with routine patient encounters, maintainspositive relationships with patients, family members, visitors and fellow employees. Front office floatmakes appointments for patients and maintains accurate and orderly schedules for physicians. Frontoffice float will be responsible for cashiering, scanning into EMR, building insurance, managingpatient portal, medical records, posting charges, following up on tasks related to eligibility and codingconcerns. They will work on various reconciliation reports as needed. Requirements

  • Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shopskills, or others.
  • 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of the patient encounter; verify patients name, address, phone number and healthcoverage; direct patients to appropriate clinic locations as indicated by the schedule.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls Connect/Route and relay incoming messages to appropriatepersonnel
  • Document telephone calls that are sent to the nursing staff in EMR using the telephone template
  • Collect copays and balances Receive and record payments appropriately
  • Conduct all transfers of monies according to established procedures for billing and charging.
  • Follow all procedures contained in the credit policy, safeguard all funds with integrity and honesty
  • Maintain minimum amount of money in order to operate cash drawer
  • Research and correct all errors immediately; record error corrections and or adjustments within 24hours
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Manage patient portal; assign access and assist patients with all aspects of the patient portal system.
  • Post charges and payments
  • Work tasks related to eligibility and coding
  • Scan documents into the appropriate category in EMR Open and Close office
  • Order and maintain inventory of office supplies
  • Work reconciliation reports and post charges as needed
  • Assist the supervisor when needed and fill in during absence.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
