About The Position

Markets Credit Risk Analyst, Officer State Street Markets (“SSM”) is looking for an Officer to join the SSM Risk and FRM team in Boston. The team manages Credit, Market, and Model Risk as the First Line of Defense across SSM’s business units, including Financing Solutions, FX Sales & Trading, and Portfolio Solutions. Additionally, the team performs Financial Resource Management, covering allocation, monitoring, and optimization of capital, funding, and liquidity. What you will be responsible for As Front Office Credit Risk Analyst, Officer you will Reporting to the Head of Front Office Credit Risk in Boston, this Officer role is responsible for first line credit risk management across the business units in State Street Markets. Traditional counterparty credit analysis skills and trading product knowledge are prerequisites for success. This role requires an experienced risk analyst with a background in Securities Finance, Capital Markets and OTC Derivatives who can support the front office management function for all State Street Markets’ products. Demonstrated experience in the credit risk analysis of a wide variety of counterparties, including financial institutions and alternative funds is of central importance. The role is located in Boston, with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an economics or business-related field.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in counterparty credit risk preferred.
  • Strong risk management and control focus.
  • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal credit training strongly preferred.
  • Professional designation (CFA, FRM) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct credit reviews of counterparties and prospects within each SSM business line.
  • Partner with sales and relationship management teams to ensure timely and thorough credit analysis of new relationships.
  • Negotiate client-facing credit terms in legal agreements for all SSM counterparties and ensure appropriate monitoring of ATEs.
  • Liaise with relationship management and front office trading to support counterparty review of lending supply.
  • Manage the collection of up-to-date financial information for all of our counterparties.
  • Under direction of credit team leader, participate in periodic and ad-hoc due diligence calls and visits.
  • Proactively review and analyze credit utilization reports and investigate any over-limit conditions.
  • Help manage the relationship between Front Office Risk and Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Inform Enterprise Risk Management of all relevant developments involving counterparties.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned to support the Front Office Credit and Market Risk teams.
