About The Position

The Office Assistant plays a crucial role in patient care within an ambulatory clinic environment, working under the supervision of medical providers. This position involves maintaining patient flow, assisting with clinical tasks, and ensuring a safe and efficient clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the care of the patient under the direct supervision of the medical provider.
• Collects patient information and assessment data, including vital signs.
• Reports assessment findings to the practitioner and records them in a timely manner.
• Monitors patient status and recognizes abnormal findings or changes in condition.
• Organizes patient care activities based on assessment findings.
• Confirms and clarifies written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
• Maintains aseptic techniques and infection control during clinical duties.
• Assists practitioners in patient procedures, treatments, and examinations.
• Proactively identifies solutions to barriers to safety.
• Manages specimens, including labeling and transport to laboratories.
• Performs quality control for waived testing and acts as a trainer.
• Recognizes emergency situations and implements emergency procedures.
• Administers first aid and maintains emergency equipment.
• Provides patient education and maintains educational supplies.
• Assists patients to exam rooms and prepares them for examination.
• Orders, stocks, and maintains clinic supplies and equipment.
• Operates clinical equipment and reports maintenance issues.
• Performs related tasks such as prescription refills and patient flow management.
• Acts as a resource and preceptor for Medical Assistants.
• Participates in staff meetings and identifies opportunities for performance improvement.

Benefits

• Pay: From $20.00 per hour
• Full-time position with expected hours of 40 per week
• Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday
