About The Position

We have an opening for full and part time FRONT OF HOUSE LEAD SUPERVISOR positions. Location: Brooklyn Botanic Garden - 990 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11225. Requirement : 2+ years of experience in a high-end or fine dining restaurant environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred Deep understanding of upscale dining service standards, including table-side etiquette, wine and beverage service, and menu presentation Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, train, and motivate a team. Job Summary Monitors the food service operation to ensure production of top quality products and service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs inventory management to maintain high valuation and minimal waste. Ensures that staff is on task, quality assurance standards are being met, and the operation is clean and organized. Monitors marketing, confirming that signage is current and appropriate. Upholds policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with company and client expectations. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a high-end or fine dining restaurant environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Service Coordination: Collaborate with the restaurant management team to execute the daily service plan, aligning staffing, floor operations, and guest experience goals.
  • Guest Experience & Hospitality: Engage with guests to provide personalized recommendations throughout their meal, demonstrating a knowledge of the Gardens and Longwood Programming.
  • Pre-Service Organization: Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Host team to coordinate seating strategies, floor plans, and dining room configurations based on reservations and anticipated guest flow.
  • Culinary Communication: Liaise with the culinary team to gather up-to-date information on menu changes, dish components, dietary notes, and presentation standards, then clearly communicate this to the FOH staff.
  • Team Leadership & Oversight: Organize daily station assignments, ensure appropriate coverage, facilitate team breaks, and oversee the completion of sidework and setup/breakdown procedures. Maintain a visible and supportive presence in the dining room throughout service.
