About The Position

The Front-End Web Developer is responsible for the creation, management, optimization, and reporting of Mid-States’ private brand websites. This role is heavily focused on Shopify and front-end execution, while also supporting marketing initiatives, analytics, integrations, and emerging technologies such as AI-powered website chat. This is a hands-on role that blends development, site management, and marketing support. You will work closely with the Web Marketing Manager, brand managers, creative, and IT partners to ensure websites are visually strong, technically sound, and aligned with business and marketing goals. The ideal candidate understands how modern marketing website’s function end to end and is comfortable owning execution across multiple brands, platforms, and priorities.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of front-end web development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Shopify, including theme customization and app management
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify Liquid
  • Working knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager, and website analytics
  • Experience supporting marketing teams and campaign-driven website updates
  • Understanding of systems architecture as it relates to modern marketing and e-commerce websites
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency, testing, reporting, and execution

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems
  • Familiarity with AI chat or conversational tools
  • Working knowledge of SEO and conversion optimization
  • Experience supporting third-party integrations and APIs
  • Familiarity with UX best practices and performance optimization

Responsibilities

  • Build, customize, and maintain Shopify websites and themes across multiple private brands
  • Develop and manage front-end code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Shopify Liquid
  • Execute ongoing site updates including content, navigation, collections, product pages, and landing pages
  • Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, performant, and consistent across devices and browsers
  • Proactively identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical debt
  • Implement creative assets including banners, imagery, landing page components, and promotional content
  • Collaborate with the creative team to translate designs into clean, functional front-end experiences
  • Make light design adjustments as needed using tools such as Figma or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Maintain brand standards and visual consistency across all private brand websites
  • Support digital marketing initiatives including promotions, campaigns, email integrations, and landing pages
  • Implement on-page SEO best practices including metadata, structured content, and page hierarchy
  • Assist with conversion rate optimization, testing, and site performance improvements
  • Implement and support GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Shopify analytics
  • Monitor site performance metrics and provide reporting and insights to the Web Marketing Manager
  • Troubleshoot analytics and tracking issues to ensure data accuracy
  • Work within Mid-States’ broader digital ecosystem including Shopify, analytics platforms, DAM systems, and marketing tools
  • Support clean, scalable front-end architecture aligned with web development best practices
  • Assist with implementation and ongoing use of Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems to ensure assets are organized, accessible, and properly deployed
  • Support third-party integrations including marketing technology tools, analytics platforms, and AI chat solutions
  • Collaborate with marketing, creative, and IT teams to ensure systems work together efficiently
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce friction, and improve system reliability
  • Implement and manage AI-powered chat or virtual assistant tools on private brand websites
  • Support testing, optimization, and ongoing improvements for AI and automation tools
  • Stay current on front-end, e-commerce, and marketing technology best practices
