Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader provides daily direction to associates within a store department, covering merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service. This role supports the Group Sales Manager (GSM) / Department Manager (DM) in achieving departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals. Key responsibilities include preparing task lists, executing merchandising directives, maintaining plan-o-grams, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The Team Leader assists the GSM / DM and Human Resources Manager with staffing, interviewing, training coordination, performance appraisal input, weekly scheduling, and motivating associates. They are also responsible for resolving customer and associate issues, maintaining high customer service standards, and acting as a product expert through ongoing training and demos. Additionally, the role involves coordinating special events, ensuring pricing and UPC integrity, managing inventory accuracy, and properly displaying advertised items. The Team Leader supports the GSM / DM in supervisory duties, including planning, assigning work, evaluating performance, and maintaining a positive work environment. They are expected to provide a legendary customer experience by assisting with buying decisions, making product recommendations, and promoting company programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
