Wilson Farm is hiring a full-time Supervisor for our Front End Department.

Requirements

  • Two years retail cashier experience
  • Customer service experience preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting, Service
  • Desk experience is a plus
  • Full-time (45-50 hours/week). Schedule will be a mix of “opening” and “closing” schedules on weekdays and weekend days.
  • Holiday periods will require more hours and flexibility in schedule (which is greatly appreciated) to meet business needs.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, excellent work ethic
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing personality; positive attitude
  • Reliable/punctual - reliable transportation
  • Excellent communications skills – answering the phone and in person
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to hold this position
  • Standing/bending/reaching for periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently lift/move grocery bags into shopping carts (approx. 30+lb)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist Front End Manager with all facets of managing a diverse group of cashiers and baggers (FT, PT, student workers etc.) to ensure that the Front End operates smoothly and employees have the tools and resources needed to provide incredible service to customers exiting the store.
  • Work with Front End Manager and other Supervisors to train cashiers in all aspects of their job – customer service skills, proper approval on voids, refunds & returns when necessary
  • Maintain a detailed awareness of peak business times by monitoring the flow of customers
  • Provide positive customer interactions in a friendly and helpful manner at all times
  • Oversee the staffing levels of cashiers and baggers on register lanes - open register as necessary to reduce customer wait time and relieve long lines
  • Ensure drawers are ready for incoming cashiers and supply change for cashiers throughout shifts
  • Ensure rest and meal breaks are taken by cashiers/baggers, keeping in mind those needed to keep customer flow
  • Communicate with cashiers and baggers (by phone, in-person) – clearly understand any changes to their work availability (sick calls, coverage, scheduling changes.)
  • Resolve any conflicts that may arise with cashiers, customers
  • General clean up, organizing of Front End/Cashier area to maintain neat appearance
  • Other related tasks as assigned by department Front End Manager
  • Additionally, this position may be providing hands-on, in-person customer service on the sales floor if needed!
  • END OF DAY PROCEDURES: balancing cashier drawers, counting money accurately
