About The Position

The position involves receiving and verifying grocery vendor deliveries efficiently and accurately. The role also includes performing various functions in Produce, Point-of-Sale, and Receiving that contribute to the store's financial best interests. Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify grocery vendor deliveries for quality, count, and condition against invoices.
  • Perform functions in Produce, Point-of-Sale, and Receiving.
  • Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience, and respect in all customer interactions.
  • Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner throughout the store.
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, performing price checks, and loading/unloading heavy items.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, box cutters, forklifts, mops, and brooms according to company guidelines.
  • Assume responsibility for receiving area security and operating hours; control vendor traffic through Receiving.
  • Monitor and report abnormal vendor actions and unauthorized customers/sales representatives in Receiving.
  • Log irregularities, discrepancies, shortages, and damaged shipments; process credits and document vendor resolutions.
  • Deliver product to applicable storage/work load areas and manage damaged/spoiled product per policy.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards; keep all areas clean and clear.
  • Assist in responding to emergencies and potential safety hazards.
  • Check and maintain equipment for proper performance; advise the store director of problems.
  • Be knowledgeable of the nature and duties of every department position.
  • Notify store director of situations adversely affecting operating performance or requiring disciplinary action.
  • Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations according to company and health code regulations.
