The Front End Manager at Vallarta Supermarkets is responsible for overseeing the front end operations of the store, ensuring outstanding customer service, and managing front end employees. This role includes greeting customers, supervising cashiers, handling returns and price adjustments, and maintaining compliance with company policies and government regulations. The manager will also be involved in scheduling, training, and monitoring various operational logs and reports. The position requires physical activity, including lifting and moving products, and ensuring the store is clean and organized at closing time.

  • Greet all customers in a friendly manner.
  • Bag merchandise during sales transactions.
  • Thank customers for their patronage.
  • Supervise all front end employees to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Verify and approve all customer returns, price adjustments, and checks in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist cashiers with cash drops as needed.
  • Schedule breaks for cashiers and courtesy clerks, and post weekly schedules.
  • Monitor operational logs and ensure they are up to date.
  • Monitor shopping carts and ad flyers for customers.
  • Discipline and encourage front end department employees.
  • Supervise and train all front end employees, including safety training.
  • Notify Scan Coordinator of any incorrect prices or items not scanning.
  • Enforce company regulations and ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Walk the floor to stay informed about weekly specials and store operations.
  • Assist with company marketing promotional events as needed.
  • Perform closing duties including cash counts and store cleaning.
  • Experience in a supervisory role, preferably in retail.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage and train employees.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with retail operations and regulations.
  • Experience with scheduling and employee management.
  • Knowledge of WIC, Foodstamps, Alcohol, and tobacco sales regulations.
  • Competitive wage ranging from $18.50 to $25.00 per hour.
