About The Position

A Front-End Manager plays an essential role in ensuring that the customer’s store experience is smooth, efficient, and enjoyable. They oversee the operations at the front end of the store, which includes cash registers, customer service, and checkout lines. A Front-End Manager is responsible for managing staff, optimizing workflow, and addressing customer needs promptly. They contribute to the store’s overall success by enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty, which in turn drives sales and profitability.

Requirements

  • MINIMUM AGE: 21 Years
  • Please note: weekend shifts are required (holidays as applicable)
  • Leadership experience of at least 5 years – front end management preferred
  • Cashier experience and using computerized cash register systems
  • Excellent communication skills that include good listening skills and the ability to provide clear direction both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple demands and remain calm under pressure
  • Good computer skills including word, spreadsheet, and database systems

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a staffing schedule for the front end in a way that meets business volume and traffic requirements, as well as minimizing customer inconvenience and excessive waiting periods.
  • Address customer complaints and issues, providing resolutions that ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Oversee front end cash handling to ensure accuracy and security and accurate point-of-safe procedures.
  • Understand and leverage best practices in regard to cash handling, back-office procedures, and payments (including WIC, gift cards, EBT, credit, debit, and cash).
  • Maintain a regular and effective housekeeping program of the front-end area.
  • Ensure front end staff are aware of price changes, specials, events, and all the changes in store policies and procedures that affect cashiering.
  • Are qualified, knowledgeable, able, and prepared to perform all of the duties of an experienced cashier when assigned, requested, or needed to do so.
  • Assist cashiers and customers with refunds, overrings, and other transactions requiring supervisory approval or overrides.
  • Order and control inventory of all front-end supplies including proper replenishment, as required, at the registers.
  • Resolve cash register and other front end equipment malfunctions promptly and in a cost-effective manner; troubleshoot, initiate maintenance service calls as appropriate, and coordinate interim procedures.
  • Supports the team by taking on additional tasks or responsibilities as requested.
