About The Position

The Front End Manager at Food City is responsible for promoting and maintaining efficient and courteous service to customers at all times, ensuring that the policy of 'No more than two customers waiting in line' is always followed. This role involves supervising and monitoring the total functions of the front end, including cashiers, courtesy clerks, and fuel associates, as well as the computer room operator and coordinating lane pick-ups. The manager is accountable for the security of safe and change funds, ensuring that all cash, deposits, and pick-ups are properly handled. The position also requires enforcing security policies and procedures for store safes, maintaining good housekeeping on the front end, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding the sale of age-restricted products. The Front End Manager will assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and ensure that all front end associates take their breaks and lunches as scheduled.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet standard physical and mental demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to interact with various levels of individuals daily.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Supervise and monitor the total functions of the front end.
• Supervise and monitor all cashiers, courtesy clerks, and fuel associates.
• Maintain security of safe and change funds.
• Count safe during scheduled shifts.
• Enforce security policies and procedures for store safes.
• Ensure all cash, deposits, and pick-ups are properly handled.
• Monitor check cashing and tendering procedures.
• Promote use of ValuCard.
• Monitor and enforce coupon handling procedures.
• Promote and maintain good housekeeping on the front end.
• Ensure adequate number of shopping carts on front end.
• Enforce company dress code policies.
• Follow all policies regarding rental equipment.
• Enforce laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
• Maintain and enforce policies for Charge Accounts and various payment methods.
• Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels in customer service area.
• Follow procedures for handling two-party checks and payroll checks.
• Follow policies on banking and armored car services.
• Ensure front end associates take breaks and lunches as scheduled.
• Verify funds received from the bank.
• Answer and facilitate all incoming phone calls.
• Enforce child labor laws.
• Assist in giving produce tests to cash register operators.
• Keep checkout lines moving as fast as possible.
• Assist cashiers in unloading shopping carts.
• Enforce anti-money laundering policies.
