About The Position

The Front End Manager at Albertsons is responsible for ensuring that customers receive fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service. This role involves managing and scheduling the duties of various front-end clerks, overseeing daily cash handling and payroll reports, and supporting store sales and operational plans. The manager will champion customer service programs, handle customer relations, and ensure the front end operates smoothly and projects a positive image.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and deal with the public positively.
  • Ability to frequently lift and maneuver objects up to approximately 55 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods and move quickly.
  • Knowledge of interviewing techniques and basic employment law.
  • Ability to analyze and gather facts for recommending disciplinary action and make hiring decisions.
  • In-depth understanding of Front-End policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of product variety and perishability, safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Basic mathematics and weights and measures knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
  • Handle customer relations positively, including effective resolution of customer complaints.
  • Promote the Company's philosophy of personalized service.
  • Provide fast, friendly, courteous, and excellent customer service, including checking duties and supervisor functions on cash registers when necessary.
  • Direct and supervise front end activities, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the Front-End area.
  • Monitor customer traffic and service levels, coordinating front end and service programs.
  • Handle and be accountable for cash flow and controls, including safe transactions and cash register tills.
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring front end and courtesy clerks, and train staff on compliance.
  • Supervise employees, making recommendations for employment status changes and discipline to the Store Director.
  • Achieve budget goals for labor, cash variation, check expense, and supplies.
