The position involves providing exceptional customer service and engagement behaviors. The individual will be responsible for greeting and engaging with 90% of all customers through friendly interactions, including smiling, making eye contact, and thanking them. The role requires spending at least 90% of the time on the customer approach side of the check lanes, being an approachable and visible source of assistance to both customers and associates. The individual will also maintain self-checkout and total front end queuing standards, coach cashiers, courtesy clerks, and self-checkout attendants on engagement, check-out procedures, and best practices. Additionally, the position includes ensuring till audits are performed, supervising the basket retrieval process, maintaining break schedules for front end associates, and ensuring carry-outs are offered to customers. The individual will supervise cleanliness and safety conditions for the front end and restrooms, coach direct reports in their performance, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback to direct reports.
