About The Position

We’re representing a defense-focused robotics company building autonomous swarm systems designed to operate in demanding real-world environments. Their platform includes fleets of autonomous unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) that can operate independently or as coordinated swarms to execute complex missions. As these systems scale, intuitive and reliable command-and-control software becomes mission-critical. This role will focus on designing and building the front-end applications that allow operators to visualize, control, and interact with robotic swarms in real time.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience designing and building front-end applications.
  • Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
  • Experience developing responsive web applications.
  • Experience translating design concepts and wireframes into production-quality interfaces.
  • Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design and front-end development work.
  • Experience testing and iterating on front-end implementations.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Willingness to relocate to Phoenix, AZ.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript for building scalable front-end systems.
  • Experience with real-time data streaming and WebSockets .
  • Experience building telemetry dashboards or live data visualization tools .
  • Expertise with geospatial and mapping libraries (Mapbox, MapLibre, deck.gl, Leaflet, etc.).
  • Experience with WebGL or GPU-accelerated rendering for large-scale visualizations.
  • Experience implementing video streaming solutions using WebRTC or HLS.
  • Experience collaborating on public-facing API design .
  • Experience with frontend authentication architectures (OAuth2/OIDC).
  • Familiarity with the TAK ecosystem (ATAK, WinTAK, TAKX).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop responsive web applications used to monitor and control robotic swarms.
  • Build and maintain the front-end of the company’s command-and-control system.
  • Implement real-time telemetry visualization and system monitoring interfaces.
  • Develop desktop-oriented interfaces for swarm control and operational visibility.
  • Collaborate with robotics, autonomy, and backend teams to integrate real-time data pipelines.
  • Translate product concepts into polished, intuitive UI designs and production-ready front-end systems.
  • Ensure high performance and responsiveness for complex visualizations and real-time data streams.
  • This role requires balancing user experience design with engineering rigor in a fast-moving robotics environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Full-time, onsite in Phoenix, AZ.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Build the command-and-control interface that operators use to manage autonomous robotic swarms in mission-critical environments.
